Have a nice trip, Jan! Don't worry too much abt ur studies..Bring ur books there & try to make use of the time there..Ganbatte ne!!!

Which Naruto Character are You?
quiz by orangeday.net

Nothing much to say....been in a bad mood recently...must be PMS-ing...

Realised that my studies are still damn shit...haiz...gotta work hard this hols..

Went for flag day yesterday with my classmates. Haha....had breakfast at a hawker centre in Chinatown. Ate zhu chang fen, fish porridge, half a you tiao (shared one with hui ling) & drank sugar cane juice (all that sucrose! *gasp!*) We all went to Bugis. Slacked for quite a while...did some cip on this rather deserted road...rested (again) den went to Guan yin temple with hui ling, serene & chun wei to qiu qian....hmmm.....was a rather interesting experience ;D

Slacked (AGAIN!) and went to City Hall with hui ling, serene, jie li (?!). It was pretty deserted as well so we decided to return to Outram, and we found a damn gd place to ask for donations: outside HSA...The others left at around 3pm but i stayed till 5. In the end i filled abt two-thrids of the can, which was a great achievement since initially i only managed to fill abt one-eighth of the can. Really glad =D

The atmosphere of the class (or the part of it that turned up) was quite gd lah....starting to comunicate wif the guys a bit more...

Watched half of Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Fri. Why? Cos i was 45mins late....i really learnt my lesson this time....In the past when i went out with 'nicer' pple like MC, i usually took them for granted but this time, i went out with jan, who's probably more wiful than i am and she actually went into the cinema w/o me. But i admit i got what i deserved cos after all, i made jan wait for me for 45 mins....no one to blame but myself...baka atashi wa

Anyway, i'm going to watch it again. The 2nd half (or what i could decipher of it) looks good!!!! =D

Naruto

Finally finished Naruto today....I think it is quite a good manga. It deals with loneliness and the meaning life/purpose of one's existence, proving your worth/achieving your dreams through hard work & perserverance. It also includes good story development and realistic characters. The story develops at good pace and i could really feel the danger (when Naruto & his frens were surrounded by formidable foes and it seemed like there was no way out. The sense of doom was almost palpable..)or sadness (sad childhoods, demise of the 3rd Hokage) at appropriate parts.

But i think there's a limit to how much i can feel for manga.....i can't relate that much to it lah....think i'll probably feel more for it if i watch the anime. Hmmm....still think that books are the best way to convey emotions cos with books you can express your intentions explicitly and exactly as you inteneded.

Bye for now...probably won't be updating for a while...sianzzzz...

Work hard peeps!!!!! Let's jia you together for common test!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. btw i'm cutting down on msging so do try to call me if u can afford it cos my calls are free =)

Is your birthday day 13 of the month?

Your Life
You are sincere and easy going. Flattering and charming around are not your style. You care so much for freedom that often leads you to the difficult path. Because of your sincerity, most people find you easy to be around although you are sometimes too straightforward.

Your Love
Your gentleness, care and sincerity make you an attractive person. Eventhough you don't intend to be charming, but you naturally are, especially in the eyes of opposite sex.
Track n Field Meet
We met. And it's over. Finally! Cheerleading was pretty bad but......i have no one to blame but myself..so watever

Band Concert
The band played well, but i got really bored....guess i'm not made out to enjoy such musique.....Gd job Shuang Han~!!!!

Shopping
Bought a necklace, a skirt and a top recently...yay...haven't bot nice stuff for a damn long time =D Very happy

Naruto
It's a really good manga introduced by my sister's fren. Very exciting & gripping and cool...it's kinda like the jap version of Harry Potter i guess. It transports you to the facinating world of ninjas and you never know what's gonna happen. It boasts a cast of cool characters the action scenes had me gripped. It traces the journey of a young orphan boy, Naruto, as he aspires to becoming the best ninja in the country. along the way, he picks up lots of skills and meets plenty of rivals and villians.

I can't help but admire this crazy guy, for whom nothing stands in the way btwn him and his dream. Whatever he wants, he's going to overcome all obstacles to get to it, no matter what.
Looking good?

Now on to.........Movies!!!! Yay!!!!

50 First Dates Baoz's Movie Rating:***
Hmmm.......this show had surprisingly more heart-tugging moments than its cast suggests. I thiought it would be some corny/slapstick comedy. But it turned out to be quite a heartwarming flick. It's really sweet, seeing how that guy actually stay by the girls' side and helps her thru everything (but's it's quite weird how he decided to stick with her after just one date)

Rob Schneider provides most of the laughs in this flick...Drew Barrymore was really pretty at the part where adam sandler dreamed of her....she was smiling and had a white orchid in her hair....she was a knockout!! I like the way she talked...she sounded really sweet =D Adam Sandler was ok...haha i liked the part where he pretended to cry to get Drew Barrymore's attention...

Shrek 2 Baoz's Movie Rating:**
Quite boring...It didn't offer anything new. It talked loving yourself for you who are and being happy with the way you are. Really, the quest for perfect looks is endless so i think there's really no point in being overly critical of how you look.

There were a few funny parts: when Shrek's frens went to rescue at the dungeon & the last song at the wedding ball. There were quite a few references to some movies and stuff...amusing but not 'HA-HA' funny. The soundtrack's really good, though. tink i might buy it.

Antonio Banderas' Puss in Boots, complete with his spanish accent and reference to Zorro, was a show-stealer! Esp the part where he puts his large eyes to good use....haha...

Troy Baoz's Movie Rating:***
It's really an epic, in terms of the set & the number of 'care-le-fares' & hollywood biggies. But i wasn't satisfied with the plot. Within 20 mins, Greece is starting to attack Troy. Like, huh? The movie didn't explain how Paris and Helen hooked up wth each other. I feel that the movie should have shown the attraction and stuff. At least it's more exciting than the fighting. (",) I think the director should have given them some sort of credibility....at least make the audience feel sth for them. All i felt was that they were really stupid, selfish and loose. Seriously, they ought to be shot the moment they stepped into Troy.

The director's intention was to show how people left their names in history, especially when they fight in great wars and accomplished acts of courage. Fine. I'm cool with that. But it's so annoying when the characters themselves kept emphasising over and over again about 'The greatest war ever' and leading the 'greatest force the world has ever seen'. Like, hello? I'd prefer more showing than telling, thank you very much. It's as if the writer wants to force that bit of info down our throats: this is an epic film abt a war of epic proportions. Now eveyone lets say it together: wooooaaaaaahhhhh *rolls my eyes*
(anyway the scene of the 1000 ships have been shown too much in the trailers so there wasn't much of an effect on me when i finally saw it in the film)

The acting was ok...Peter O'Toole acted well and so did Eric Bana!!!!! WHoooo!! He really nailed the portrayal of Hector as a couragoes and honourable prince. Peter O'Toole's benevolent ruler was very realistic as well.

I can't accept Archilles' reason for fighting in the war. Like, huh? Fame? I can't accept that the GREAT Archilles is just some fame-hungry person..

Brad Pitt's character was kinda stiff at the start but his acting improved later on. I felt that he was trying too hard to act cool at the front part where he was awakened to fight for King Agamemnon. He acted better as the film progressed but i still he's short of a little somehting to really nail that cynical yet magnetic 'born killer' that Archilles was. and why does he keep mumbling in the show???? Like the part where he told Hector's cousin (whose i still don't know) that 'the gods envy us.....' I was like "huh? huh? huh?" all the way....can you tok properly???!!!!

However, I liked the part where he rescued Hector's cousin and handed her a wet towel to clean her face, but she grabbed the towel and threw it at his face. Damn funny!!!!! Can i add that Brad Pitt is damn hot in this show? *dRoOlz*

Orlando bloom was very disappointing. And he dares to say that he was from drama school?!!! He sounds like he's acting in a Shakespearen play or something. Can someone pls tell him he's in a movie? paris is really pathetic. He was to get his brother to fight his war for him. (WTH???!!!!) He even crawled to his brother when he was defeated by Menelaus. Pathetic pathetic pathetic. CAn you start to fight like a man?!!!! Arrghhhh. Diane Kruger had the air of a princess.....she acted ok.

Troy was ok....but strange enough, it had some effect on me, though i dunno what......Must have been the epic set, the immense number of extras and the cast of big names in hollywood....

The show got me really interested in Homer's iliad....tried to find it in West mall library but all the books were on loan.... hmmmm...shall get my claws on it some day..

Bao's Movie List
-The Day after Tomorrow
-Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Askaban
(I saw the trailer and it looks damn exciting!)

Tune of the mo': I'm Kissing You by Des'ree
(Romeo + Juliet OST as well as To Heart OST <---at the part juz b4 Yuuji went for the final boxing match, when Touko was binding his fists for him)

Ulcer

Ouch. The gaping hole in the left corner of my upper lip has forcibly taken all pleasure from eating and banished it into oblivion. What i mean is, i can't enjoy my food with that ulcer. Although by no means excruciating, it still qualifies for being a great pain the in a**. (not really the 'A**' a**, but anyway...)

Soccer

Was really saddened by today's soccer match. Nj lost to Rj 0-1. It wasn't so much the score but the emotional investment i had made while sitting in the stands. Everyone cheered like crazy lor....but in the end...we still lost...Someone said, "Nj is bound to lose anyway. Just think abt it and you'll know." No, i don't want to believe that! I don't want to believe in certainties. I want to believe that there's nothing absolute in this world. That if pple put their hearts to it, they can turn things around.

I was crying inside when the game ended. Haiz...everyone's blood was burning, the sch spirit was flaming but it all ended too soon. I can't believe that the only times i'd went all out to cheer for nj had ended with only 2. It's been a long time since i'd cheered like that. (The last time was during sec sch) I'd really missed cheering & sch spirit kinda stuff....

It was really exciting & emotionally gripping. I was like, rooting my heart & soul out for nj. ("Nj, Nj, Goooooo~!!!!") When the sch song was played at the end, I felt like crying but i kept on singing to keep my tears from flowing. All that suppressed feelings gave me a headache after that.

Congrats, Nj soccer...for making it this far....

Cheerleading

Sigh. I dunno what the heck the Yr 1s are doing. Well, the elects of the New Student Leadership Body are definitely not leading. They were damn sian diaoz today and i can understand that cos only 10 pple turned up. I ask you, how can we do stunts with only 10 pple?

Ok, i think they haven't realised that cheerleading is supposed to be student organised and seniors are just around to help them if they need, like in terms of training them and stuff. But in the end, we made the music, we got the routine done. Now they don't even show interest in putting up a gd performance. What the.....nvm...they can malu themselves on sports Day if that's what they choose to do...

Today, they were supposed to practise their dance but they kept getting distracted by other houses. Do they need a nanny or sth?! What the.....When they see other houses having better dance moves, they try to learn those moves instead of trying to improve their own. Like...???!!!!!!! Shouldn't you feel worried? Shouldn't you want to practise more and do even better?!!!! As for stunts...forget it.. They still didn't see the gravity of the situation, even on mon. Some idiots were slacking or too 'shy' to touch a girls' butt. Then forget it. Just pose for 30 secs then. Whatever.

They're so damn bu4 zhen1 qi4. Haiyo.......

Nvm...May the best hse win next wed....

Movies!!!!!

I'm itching to watch a comedy or feel-good flick. After the heavy dose of depressing shows in the form of VJ's Drama & Dance Nite, and fatigue from (bloody) cheerleading, i really need time out. Kimshi & Grace, choose one from this list and book me asap k! ;P
-50 First Dates
-Beautiful Boxer
-Troy
-Laws of Attraction (a romance movie. Looks sweet...)

Love

I've never experienced it and i can honestly say that i know nothing about it. All those 'true love' we see on tv...how much of those are actually true? Are they exaggeration of the ups of love on the producer's part? Maybe love is so simple & so mundane that i don't even see it. Maybe it springs forth in simpler ways than i'd ever thought possible but cos i'd always believed the TV version of love, that things are always oh-so-rosy & sweet, love ultimately eludes me.

So again, I shouldn't have any expectations towards anything, even love. Especially love, since it's such an abstract idea to me.

Been reading this book called The solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaardner and it's so damn philosophical it's giving me a headache thinking thru those snippets of philosophy scattered between the pages.

Congrats Stella~~!!!!!!

Stella!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so damn proud of you!!!!!! You put on a great show on sat. The opening of your play was just mind-blowing!!! I like, *jaw drops* "Wow!" i din know you could act so well! You were so cool then, those deliberate movements when you tied the curtains back. I couldn't even tell that you were sick, when you were actually very sick. You portrayed the dark character really well & I was totally impressed. But the make up was a little too freaky for me (though it brought out the intended Gothic look). Green eyeshadow & a line of red under the eyes??(?!!) If u stood at some dark corner of the school and started crying, i tell you, you would be fully capable of scaring the shit out of anyone ;P

Btw hope u liked the 3 red daisies. They were the ones frm To Heart...Yes, we braved all dangers and stole 3 stalks from the set of To Heart...haha

You shared 2 things in common with Koichi (ur Prince) that night: Talent & Professionalism. You were a star man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *huGz*

On the other aspects of the Dance & Drama Night:

- didn't think the 'mother' character acted very well. I don't think she showed her love for her daughter which was weird to me cos all mothers love their children!

- the script was kinda.....'selfish'. It's got this 'oh no, i'm so sad/no one knows how i feel/i'm so darn alone in this world' kind of tone to it. But i think it's not true. I think for most teens, it's a question of whether you make the effort to look around you. I'm sure if you'd just reach out , there are pple around you who cares.

- the other play was equally depressing. Enuff said.

- the dance items weren't very good. the Year 1s were too uncoordinated. They were all wearing different outfits, which were really distracting. The whole ensemble of colours and styles made them look lke dancers on the catwalk or models on the dance floor.....ok you get my drift.

- (not exactly abt the items during the D & D night) Sara's bf looked like gwee from afar (xia4 si3 ren2 lor!) but up close he looked better than gwee lah.....n his complexion is better too

- (even more removed from the D & D night) Shuai ge alert!!! Mc & I saw a cute guy on the mrt on the way home. Turned out that he got off the same stop as us & even walked the same way as we did. (!!!) He disappeared, however, into the lift of the block with the neighbourhood police post....hmmmm....shall consider taking more MRT in future... *hehZ*

P.S. Stella, u might consider auditioning for some new drama on Chn I.

AERIUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSS~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the best for interhse cheerleading, folks! Aerius All The Way!!! My wish for you is to have fun & be proud of yourselves during the performance =D

-Benkyou-
After interhse cl is over, gotta get to serious work for my studies liao...

-Nowadays-
Nothing much to say other than these...cos 1) my studies are still quite shitty & 2) cheerleading take sup the bulk of my time nowadays but nvm, it's sth i haf a passion for so it's ok

Hmmm...dun like the new blog layout...i wanna see my previous posts on the posts page!

Btw, can someone from kimshi pls send me the link to our discussion board? Send it to my hotmail account k....thx!!!!

Happie tip 1: Do something to make someone else's day! You'll feel damn happy in a jiffy! ;D

~HaPp|nEss~

Was kinda depressed a few days ago over my (inexplicable) multiple aches (back, arm, waist, wrist, knee, and now, ankle) but i'm feeling happier nowadays. All because of that FISH video. I dunno what happened exactly but after watching that video, sth juz clicked and i felt that in actual fact (wait, is there sth called 'not-real fact'??!!), i have more to be grateful for than to complain abt.

It's really abt "choosing your attitude". I can either choose to be a) grumpy & angry abt my injuries & at the same time make everyone ard me sian diao, or, b) i can haf fun wif my frens in sch, make pple happy & make myself happy at the same time. So i chose the latter....And i really enjoyed myself on mon....Had lots of crazy moments wif wei wei during maths...realised that i've never actually sat down wif her & crapped so much b4 so i'm really glad i did that =D

Dun worry hui ling u still have a significant place in my heart...Oh and keep the suaning on yah!!! *heeZ*

Another attitude that i'm starting to adopt is to "live like there's no tomorrow". I really enjoyed myself on mon (i noe i sound damn long winded but it's true)...crapping wif wei wei, spoke to my juniors in interhse cheerleading...i dunno, it was just an enjoyable day, really...so much so that if there was no today, i wouldn't have regretted on yesterday...Anyway, the pt of this attitude is to do all the thgs that matter on that day. Like, what, gwee's tutorial??? Trash it. Last episode of America's next Top Model? *eyes light up* Oh, watch! ;P

One last tip to stay happy: don't expect anything. Jan gave me this advice like, in sec 3 (Jan, rmb our 'homework' & the anti-drugs package? those were the days of looooooooong but interesting letters, huh?) and i think it makes a lot of sense. By not expecting anything, if nothing happens, you won't feel sad and if sth happens then u'll feel ecstatic! =D

~Interhse Cheerleading~

Yay...i think the interhse cheerleaders made some progress on mon...the new bases r not bad, the girls bases r getting better too, and the whole squad turned up, i'm on better terms wif the pple in my jr class...which is good =D But the yr 1 maelstrom cheerleaders have training for some dumb performance on sat....They didn't want the job actually but Tay told them ytd that it cannot be cancelled so that have to train for it...wtf...f*** off lah tay! I think the jrs shud go on strike and let Tay screw himself... Dat asshole....Eating into our time only lor that TIBS driver...

~Shuai ge!~
Yay...seems like Johnny Depp has 3 films coming up: Pirates of the Carribean 2, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Neverland. Can't wait! *drOoLz*
~Missing~

No, i'm not going to tok abt the abalone King (i tink only hui ling will noe wat i'm tokking abt. If not, hui ling, pls refer to the title of this paragraph ;P). Rather, this chunk of words is dedicated to my anime bookmark that i lost today. Haiyah....felt kinda down cos i lost one of the 3 anime bookmarks that Stella bought for me. and the one i lost hapens to be the one i like the most. *pOuTs*

After sch, i tried tracing the path i took after i last saw the bkmark but i still couldn't find it...KNS...oh well...nvm i'm going to search for better pics of him and my my own bookmark...

To stella: "i don't want to drop anything that you passed to me." (does this line sound familiar to u? maybe a certain K. Domoto said it to a certain T. Domoto b4...)

To everyone else, if you see a laminated bookmark wif a pic of a cool-looking dude wif floppy hair and the bookmark has a purple tinge to it, PICK IT UP FOR ME IMMEDIATELY. Thank you.

~Deviation from the Norm?!~
oh no i tink i may be attracted to a certain someone. But that someone is a girl. *gAsp* I guess it started with me building a personality for her by just looking at her. i guess i'm not really in love with her, just with that impression, that identity i have for her in my mind. So when i finally got to interact with her recently, she's not what i imagined but i think the proximity sort of generated some feelings (?). i caught myself checking her out....and it's been a long time since i'd done that since i'd progressed from being an awe-struck sec 1 in RG. She's really lively, friendly, cute & confident & gets along well with Issac (i had dis crazy tot that she may like him but anyone & everyone can crap wif Issac so watever)...i dunno...today seh didn't seem so upbeat...i wonder wat happened.....

But my juniors are a damn nice bunch of pple. I'm really happy, seeing them so united & closely-knit...It's sth that my class prob can't achieve & my bunch of frens still fall short of that standard slightly (dun worry 03S13 folks i love ya k...harhar). It's probably cos their personalities are very similiar...seeing them havin fun just makes my day..That happiness just rubs off i guess. When i asked them who my angel was, they kept saying it's them & i had like 4 pple, proclaiming their identities as my angel.. i guess i liked the attention. But probably it was their readiness to fool ard with me & including me in their circle that makes me glad...well, this is how frens are formed rite? By letting down your gurad and being yourself. (Oops...i think i may haf let down my guard too much today, vaguely rmb saying lots of dumb stuff in class...harhar)

Oh yah i tink there's this guy in my jr class whom i tink is quite cute...harhar shan't say who.................(actually i don't even know his name - yet).

~Be Nice~
Had this interesting discussion wif wei wei abt Rg culture vs SN culture. SN culture is v warm & friendly. Like their principal will call them 'bao's (treasures) when she see them and talk to them...everyone will try to help each other kind of thing. But i think in RG, we aren't so caring. R-pple are more tsumetai. Yeah, pple care but there's some element of protectionism. Like, pple will still try to protect their own interests first. Like pple dun like sharing their study materials. pple will tend to keep thier guards up. Which brings me to my next pt. should you allow yourself to be bullied?

Today, some irritating pple took up my usual table in the oasis. So i sat at another table. My fren Tina pitied the pple whose table we took over and that we shift to the canteen instead and i was like, "No, ren2 bu2 wei4 ji3, tian1 zhu ding4 mie4". And she went,"We know that those pple took over table but these pple don't." Then, i felt very small for bullying the 'innocents'. Am i being selfish? But i hate being bullied. I guess when u get taken advantage of, the best way is to deal with those who took advantage of u instead of taking it out on someone else. Cos if u just suffer silently, everyone is happy w/o knowing the injustice they caused you and life just rolls on with you alone knowing & feeling that injustice. I hate that feeling. zhe4 zhong3 gan3 jue2 you3 ru2 gu3 geng3 zai4 hou2 - bu4 tu3 bu2 kuai4.

It's the question of, "why shud i have to be the victim if others can suffer instead of me?" Realistically, only pple who think "I wan to do things that way and i'm going screw anyone who gets in my way" will be 'happy'. But they are inflicting pain on others. (knowingly or unknowingly) and i cannot be truly happy if i this happiness were at the expense of others. I think we shud all learn to give and take lor....In this way, evryone is happy, except maybe urself but hey, happiness is a state of mind, truly. Anyway since when did sacrifice need loud hailers.....

(Just remembered that my childhood motto was to be nice to everyone; don't marginalise anyone; don't be overbearing; and respect everyone. Since when did those bitch traits find their way into me?)

Loving Nation, Caring Country! <---This should be our national motto instead.

People look forward to you as an icon associated with fashion. Basically, you mingle along freely but don't like talking much to strangers. People feel very easy in your company. You observe care in choosing your friends.
